Your health insurance may cover part or all of the services provided by Foster Muscle Therapy and reimburse you directly for the cost. It is always worth investigating and consulting with your health insurance provider. Here are some tips that may prove useful when speaking with someone at your health insurance company:
-
Ask what your health insurance company will cover. Some insurers will reimburse for massage therapy. Although Foster Muscle Therapy specializes in the field of PUSHSM Therapy, Maria Foster is a Registered Massage Therapist in the State of Colorado. Sessions are covered under the umbrella term of massage therapy.
- Ask your doctor to be your advocate with the health insurance company. If you find that sessions at Foster Muscle Therapy are providing you with pain relief that you have not been able to obtain elsewhere, it could be worth approaching your physician and asking them to write orders or a prescription to cover your treatment. If you have had a long-term pain issue and you can report to your health care provider that you are receiving pain relief with PUSH Therapy, they may be able to support you in approved coverage from your insurer.
- In the case of injuries from accidents, make sure you understand your coverage. Depending on the type of accident, who was at fault and the health insurance, you may have coverage for different types of therapy, including treatment at Foster Muscle Therapy. Again, rather than saying that you wish to receive PUSH treatments, ask what types of treatment the health insurance will cover. Many insurers will not be familiar with the term PUSH Therapy. But they may cover massage therapy or soft tissue manipulation, categories that PUSH falls under.
- You may be able to use funds from a Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account. If you have a Flexible Spending Account (also sometimes called a Cafeteria Plan) or a Health Savings Account, you may be able to use those funds for treatments at Foster Muscle Therapy. There are tax advantages to paying for services with these accounts. Especially at the end of the year when you may lose the funds as they do not roll into the next year. Consider purchasing a Gift Certificate (detailed in our Services page) for yourself so that treatments into the following year are covered through your Flex Account.
Of course if you should have any questions about your health insurance coverage, be sure to call your representative and ask them what the procedure would be to include our pain relief therapies from Foster Muscle Therapy. In some cases these type of treatments are covered under their Wellness Program. If required, Foster Muscle Therapy can forward the proper documentation to your health insurance company in order to be an approved health care provider. Contact us for further information.
