What to Expect

Your initial visit will include a combination of assessment, treatment and education.

For your first visit to Foster Muscle Therapy, wear (or bring with you) loose-fitting, comfortable clothing.  You do not need to get undressed for PUSHSM therapy sessions, but your clothing should be comfortable for you to wear and also easy for the therapist to work through. Avoid heavy fabric (such as blue jeans) or clothes with lots of seams, buttons and pockets. Good choices can include sweat pants, running shorts and tee shirts.

You will be asked to provide basic contact information along with some health history. This information is kept on file in the office and is never shared or sold to any other party.  You will receive a New Client Orientation packet that will contain more information about PUSH Therapy treatments and Foster Muscle Therapy.

Assessment of your current condition will be made through posture analysis and also by asking questions about your activities, sleep patterns, previous surgeries or accidents, medications and presenting symptoms.  All of this information is used to help create a treatment program designed specifically for you and your needs.  A brief written report will be prepared for you following your first visit and you will receive it at the beginning of your second session.

After your first session, you are encouraged to drink plenty of water.  Staying hydrated helps to flush toxins and waste products out of the tissue. You may notice some tenderness in the areas that were treated. Typically this soreness is more of a tenderness to the touch and disappears within 24 to 48 hours.  A hot shower or bath can help ease these symptoms.

Information you provide is confidential and for the "eyes only" of your treatment therapist – Maria Foster of Foster Muscle Therapy.
